Memorials and Honorariums
At First United Methodist Church of Farmington, Michigan, Memorials and Honorariums are administered by the Memorial Committee. Any monetary and in-kind gifts to honor or remember a member or friend of the church are welcome.
In-kind gifts should be discussed with the Memorial CCommittee chairperson prior to the gift being given to the church to assure that proper approval by trustees can be received.
Monetary gifts can be designated for whatever purpose the donor, honoree, or family member wishes. Contributions to this fund can be made by individuals or groups at any time; monetary gifts should be given through the church office. The Memorial Committee meets on an as needed basis. Please contact the church office for more information.
All requests for funds from the Memorial Committee must be in writing given to the Memorial Committee Chairperson. Requests for Designated Funds need to be requested by the Chairperson of the Committee or work area or from other persons responsible for that area of church work. Requests for undesignated funds can come from anyone in the congregation for Memorial Committee consideration.
Memorial Committee expenditures must be for a lasting purpose and should be able to be shared, seen, or used by the congregation.
