Social Justice Small Group
We believe the mission of our Church calls us all to Ministry; the mission is not only local, but global and is for everyone.
We meet monthly the 2nd Wednesday at 7 pm at church for an hour of group discussion.
Our first goal as a Small Group is to help our church membership know more about what our United Methodism’s “Book of Discipline” expects from us in the area of Social Principles.
Join us – you’ll find there are many options for social involvement, depending on your motivation:
- social service
- social education
- social witness
- social action
Social involvement is identifying the need & then doing something about it – it is Christian love in action.
“Jesus got into trouble for attempting to transform society rather than conform to it, but if we name the Name, and if we are followers of The Way, we are called to engage in the redemption of the social order. We are to help bring healing & wholeness to a broken world”. George Outen, former general secretary of General Board of Church & Society.
Please check for more information on what we are studying and doing on our webpage.
