The Methodist Brotherhood was established in 1908 by the Methodist Episcopal General Conference to “create a brotherhood of Men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek his will.”
Monthly Breakfast – Please join us the first Sunday of each month for a breakfast and fellowship and a guest speaker. (We do not meet in July and August.)
- Today we are a fellowship of men (women are welcome as well) who gather the first Sunday of each month for a breakfast and fellowship and a guest speaker. We find speakers from both within the spiritual community and the civic community. We are not a devotional but rather a group that gathers to celebrate our common denominator, that being our faith in Christ, our membership in this congregation and our responsibility to Church, Family, and Community.
- Charity golf outing in June (always the Saturday before Father’s day) where the proceeds are given to a worthy community need or youth activity
- Christmas and Holiday wreath and greenery sale where the proceeds are used within our church for various projects and groups.
Mostly we come to the monthly breakfasts to enjoy the bonds and friendships that we form and to thank our Lord, Christ Jesus for the opportunity to do so.
Our “un-official” mission statement – II Timothy 2:15. “Study to show thyself, approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (KJV) We are not ashamed; we actually think it’s pretty cool to be a Christian.
“We give thanks to you O Lord:
For the life-changing witness of men throughout the generations
For men who have mentored sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters
For the men who have given their lives in the service of our country
For men who share their faith so others may know, love, and follow Christ
We give thanks to you O Lord.”
Come and join us for breakfast. Celebrate the joys of being a “workman rightly dividing the word of truth”. Look for details and dates in the weekly bulletins and the monthly newsletter.
