Worship Service Times and DescriptionsWorship Schedule

August 1 – 10th Sunday after Pentecost

As Christians we are not immune from life’s ups and downs – the valleys and mountaintops of life.  People have always had questions about life and faith.  Pastor Tom Hart explores the question:  “From where will my help come?”, based on Psalm 121.  Holy Communion will also be celebrated.

August 8 – 11th Sunday after Pentecost

The Gospel of Luke tells us that Jesus called the twelve together and sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.  On their return the apostles told Jesus all they had done.  Our Appalachia Service Project Team shares their experience as they lead worship today.

August 15 – 12th Sunday after Pentecost

Our Bible has many accounts of those acted in faith.  We also have people in our own lives who have served as examples, acting in faith.  Please read Hebrews 11:29-12:2 for today as Pastor Bob Brenner reminds us that the ultimate example of faith is Jesus Christ, himself.

August 22 – 13th Sunday after Pentecost

Rules.  Rules.  Rules.  The world is full of rules, most of which are intended to protect and keep us and others safe.  There may be times, though, when we might find that we have to forget the rules to actually do the right thing.  Pastor Bob Brenner speaks about keeping people first in obeying a higher law.  Please read Luke 13:10-17 for today.

August 29 – 14th Sunday after Pentecost

We sometimes see people striving for recognition and notoriety, not always in the most beneficial and positive ways.  But in the Scripture, we often see that things are reversed from what we observe in this world.  Please read Luke 14:1, 7-14 for today as Pastor Bob Brenner focuses on the connection between humility and exaltation.
